Pioneers of early animation

Georges Melies 

George Melies was a french filmmaker who was famous for creating many technical and narrative development in the early age of cinema. George Melies was a professional magician before until he seen the first "moving pictures" in 1895. Little over a year later, Melies was filming and projecting his own creations one of these creations were a trip to the moon 






Winsor mcCay  




 Winsor McCay was an American cartoonist and animator. He is best known for the comic strip Little Nemo and the animated film Gertie the Dinosaur. He did Little Nemo in 1911 and Gertie the Dinosaur in September 1914 it was also the earliest animated film to feature a dinosaur.



























Lotte Reiniger 

Lotte Reiniger is a german film director and pioneer of silhouette animation, she has an award from German Film Award the award was for an Honorary Award witch was resived in 1972 she was also nominated for best foreign film in 1932 with Silhouetten but did not win. 




















Steamboat willie 

Steamboat willie is a 1928 American animated short film directed by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks it was the first animation to have sound and was very popular in different countries because everyone could understand what the characters were saying.
